Slots - So which is better? Playing
slots online, or playing slots in a casino?
Well that's a more complicated question than it may seem. First of all let's think about
some inherent differences between the two slots above.
To begin with, the most obvious slots difference is
staring you right in the face: Your environment. In any land based slots casino it is part
of the casino's game to distract you. Believe me they certainly try, and in an
unbelievable number of ways.
You could consider it unfortunate that they also
succeed in their distractions, but at the same time you would be condemning many of the
things that contribute to the honking good time slots casinos produce: a party atmosphere
with games, face-to-face interaction, high slot stakes, and booze.
If you're a slots fan you know exactly what I mean,
and this might be stopping you from trying out online slots. Let's look at what playing
online slots entails, and how it differs from the party that we already enjoy. First off,
you're missing the face-to-face interaction slots, and the impression of being in a large
noisy place full of slots flashing lights and noises.
Losing the face-to-face interaction can disappoint,
but it would be a greater loss in games like slot machines, blackjack or poker. Slots
definitely have a less competitive nature, you're cheering for yourself. But playing
online slots can free you from this genius plot by the casinos to distract you while they
take your money.
You set your own environment at home, with as much
or as little distraction as you like! Online slots games have a little way to go yet
before they can simulate the craziness of a real casino, but we can treat this as a good
thing. The bad thing is of course... no cocktail waitress.
The question that invariably comes up when you
compare a non-digital game like casino slots to the digitized versions you find like
online slots is that over odds. What some people don't realize is that the slots you find
in the casinos are actually computers themselves. The same type of software an online slot
machine is, is embedded in hardware chips in casino slot machines. So this 'non-digital'
game is in fact digital to its core.
Slots looseness is *always* a calculated number, and
has been for decades. So if you're hesitant about trying out online slots because you
think it's a more calculated game, it isn't. This isn't to say that the odds can't be
stacked against you, but that is the decision of the online casino, much as it is the
decision of the land based casinos.
They've been doing that since before the word
electronic ever existed (check out our history page). I don't have much to say about where
to gamble, but many online slots portals have articles about just this issue. You should
also check out some basic math to set your mind straight. Go to the Wizard of Odds site
for this, they calculate the mathematics behind many online slot machines.
So what's the answer to the question we opened with?
Online of course! Just TRY going to the Monte Carlo in your bath-gown! What do the land
based casinos have anymore? The fact that they pay you real cash? HA! You can do that
online now too, so say goodbye to Vegas and all those expensive airplane rides: start
playing at your computer, safe and sound and comfortable from your own home.
